For nearly 30 years, Harambee Cultural Society has built a safe, joyful, and culturally grounded community for families raising children of African heritage.

At the heart of this work is the Harambee Summer Festival — a one-of-a-kind, week-long cultural camp where families connect, children thrive, and heritage is celebrated through music, storytelling, play, and shared experience.

Why Your Support Matters
#

Family fees cover only part of the true cost of the Festival and our year-round programming. Your generosity helps ensure Harambee continues to be accessible, empowering, and culturally rich for every child and family.

Your donations make it possible to:

  • Offer cultural, artistic, and heritage-based activities for children and youth
  • Provide workshops, counselling, and expert-led sessions for parents and caregivers
  • Support mentorship and leadership opportunities for youth and young adults
  • Keep Harambee affordable for families who need financial support to attend

Thank You
#

Every gift — large or small — helps us sustain a thriving, year-round community rooted in love, belonging, and cultural pride.

Your support strengthens:

  • The Harambee Summer Festival
  • Ongoing education and cultural programming
  • Mentorship and leadership development for young adults
  • Resources and support for parents and caregivers navigating identity, race, and adoption

Together, we are building something lasting — a community where children of African heritage can grow up with a deep sense of identity, joy, and connection — and where families are never alone on the journey.

Thank you for being part of this work.
